Chicobag is one of my favorite companies. Not only do they make badass bags, they do it with recycled materials, and their products are well priced. I received my first one at the World Domination Summit in 2012, and since that day I’ve fallen in love with their stuff.

Which is why I was super stoked to receive the Chicobag Duffel rePETe from them, and even more stoked that they sent me an extra one to give away to you guys!

That’s right, one of you geeks will be a lucky winner and receive a free amazing reusable bag. Be sure to follow Chicobag on Facebook and Twitter for more updates and cool stuff.

Alright, without further ado, here’s my Chicobag Duffel rePETE review.

Chicobag Red Duffel rePETe

The Chicobag Duffel rePETe

Whenever I go to a fighting games tournament, I always have trouble striking a balance between a bag that carries all of my stuff, and one that isn’t so big that it becomes an annoyance when I play. Like most FGC members, I find it a pain to lug a big backpack around with me all day, especially when I’m bouncing from match to match and stressed out about playing.

I started carrying my first Chicobag in 2012, because it’s a tiny light backpack that can fit all of my controllers and cables. The best part is, when I’m playing, rather than leave an empty back lying around, I roll it up into a ball and click it to my belt.

Yep, you heard me: Chicobags are also transformers. But I’ll talk about that later.

When a friend of mine saw me do that, he asked if Chicobag made bags that were big enough to carry arcade sticks. Well, guess what? The Chicobag Duffel rePETe is definitely big enough.

In fact, it’s humongous, and super comfortable to boot. It has one large inside compartment for whatever gear you need to lug around, as well as netting on the inside, separated into three compartments. This is perfect for cables and controller converters. There’s also one small outside pocket to fit your car keys, pens, or whatever other items you need easy access to.

As you can see from the picture, you can easily fit an arcade stick inside. For the record, I put my TE stick in, as well as a couple of controllers and a change of clothes, and there was still room left over for a big water bottle.

The Chicobag Duffel rePETE is also made of pretty sturdy materials. Check this out:

I’m a big fan of testing though, so I carried my stick around in it for a few minutes, and it was pretty comfortable and easy to do.

Water Resistant?

Being the big geek I am, I also tested the water resistance, and guess what? It passed. I put a piece of paper inside the bag, and poured water on top to see if it would soak through.

It didn’t, the paper came out pure and dry. I then felt the inside walls of the bag, and although they felt a tiny bit moist, the paper stayed dry, so it’s a pass.

Finally, and this is the reason I love the Chicobags so much, check out the transformation!

And it clips to my belt too. Pretty cool, right?

If you’re interested in purchasing one, it retails for $29.99 on the Chicobag site. Check it out here.
